Muharrem – Alevilerin yas ve oruç ayı

Muharrem ayı, Alevi toplumu için yas ve oruç zamanıdır. Şii İslam’da olduğu gibi, On İki İmam, Aleviler tarafından Hz. Muhammed’in meşru halefleri olarak kabul edilir.

On iki günlük oruçla, müminler Kerbela çölündeki acıları hatırlarlar. Bu zaman öncelikle yoksunluk ve tefekkür etmeye, ama her şeyden önce İmam Hüseyin için yas tutmaya adanmıştır.
